Baltimore Review News: We launched the winter issue on January 20, announcing the new issue on social media and our blog. Yes! Now to prepare our quarterly Mail Chimp newsletter with the new issue announcement, news about the new submission period (February 1 through May 31), and upcoming events.
The BR staff members have been having meetings to discuss BR business and read submissions. We do these in batches of three to five meetings and then take a little break before another batch. Sort of an office-hours thing. There are still many fiction submissions in the queue in New status; a group effort during a meeting should get that number down a bit.
We have a couple of interns from Loyola on board, and I let them know about a CLMP opportunity for interns across various journals. I always encourage our interns to take advantage of this opportunity when the timing works out—a great way to network with others, share experiences, learn best practices, and more.
On a personal note: A few hours ago, I received a message about a chapbook acceptance—my first collection! Additional details are to be sent by the publisher. I’m kind of stunned. After I’m done being stunned, maybe I’ll dance.
Now I really want to devote more time to my own writing.
