Baltimore Review News:

Our summer issue was published on July 18, 2026, and the announcement—including the contest winners—was posted to our blog.

We’re offering another free generative writing session on Zoom this Saturday, August 1 at 1:00 p.m. June Locco will be partnering with me on this one. Who doesn’t need a solid hour, maybe an hour and a half, to generate some raw material to play with later?

We open up for submissions on August 1, so I have to update our Submittable categories. I’m adding a few more prompts to our writing prompts doc that we send to people who donate $5 when they submit (but there’s never any fee to submit to non-contest categories).

Charm City Books offered us an hour of program time at the Baltimore Book Festival. Yes! Now, we’ll need to work out a roster of readers for that time. Saturday, September 19, 11:00 a.m.

Two events for November:

The Eastern Shore Writers Association Holiday Book Festival on Saturday, November 7, 12:00-4:00 p.m. at Cult Classic Brewing.

The Baltimore Writers’ Conference on Saturday, November 14, at Towson University.

We’ll have tables at both of these.

Participating in an Eastern Shore Writers Association reading tonight and looking forward to my August publications.

With all the BR work—and I do love that work!—my own writing has slowed down. But being a part of three writing groups, along with participating in generative writing sessions whenever they pop up, forces some accountability on me. The importance of deadlines, right?
