Baltimore Review News: I’m in the process of loading all the items for the fall issue—photos, bios, etc.—into a Google shared-drive folder for our webmaster to put on our website. And paying all the contributors. And then it will be proofreading time. We want all the writers we publish to be happy with the way their work is presented. A lot goes on behind the scenes, more than many writers can imagine, I think. But in the end, it’s pretty magical when all those technical tasks are performed and the site goes live. Wow. Four times a year for the past 13-14 years, and paper books before that, going back to 1996. If I’m sounding sort of reminisce-y, that’s because of our 30-year anniversary coming up in 2026—an excellent time to be at AWP in Baltimore.
On a personal note: I’m finding time to replenish my creative well by participating in frequent generative workshops, as many free and low-cost workshops as possible. I’ll mention some of those soon and share some links. And critique groups are giving me deadlines (along with other benefits). So I’m squeezing in some personal writing time. Many submissions in “In-Progress” status and a couple of encouraging decline responses lately. But—we carry on, right?
The TELEPHONE Project launches in a matter of hours, and I’m so looking forward to exploring this massive ekphrastic project. I have a piece in it, and I know a number of BR contributors do, too. I’ll add that link here as soon as I can.
